About Me

Born and raised in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, I grew up exploring and adventuring in the foothills and forests of the coastal mountains which I call home. For me, painting, grappling and hiking are ways to escape the endless amount of screens that surround us every day, a connection of body and mind.
My art strives to capture the emotions and tranquility found within the moments where I become grounded and connected with my body. This clarity finds me in the middle of sparring and in the silence and meditation when deep in the woods.
I am predominantly a self-taught painter. I am particularly fascinated with portrait and figure studies of my team-mates that surround me at my JiuJitsu gym and taking the time for painting en plein air when the grueling uphill has brought me to the payoff of the view.
